THE RESTORATION

Throughout Time

Since the beginning of time, God has called prophets. Prophets are men chosen by Him to have His authority and power, or in other words, his preisthood. They use this power and authority to declare His word and His great Plan of Salvation.

Jesus Christ was the greatest prophet of all. He called twelve apostles and established His church on earth. However, after His crucifixion and resurrection, His apostles were killed and the power and authority of God was lost, causing much confusion about eternal truths. Without a person with the proper authority to declare the word of God, many gospel principles were lost or misinterpreted, and the church that Christ established fell in confusion.

The prophet Paul prophesied about this loss of truth and authority. He declared:

"Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day (Jesus Christ) shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition."

2 Thessalonians 2:3

For this reason, there were separations and formations of many churches that carried different teachings and different translations of the Bible, which contained the truth but not in its entirety.
